Mosaic!

Ok, so I've been dying to do a mosaic blanket since this year began. And, with the donation from dear Sandra, I'm able to finally do it!

Most of the squares are knitting samples. Perfect for peicing together. One entire line was already peiced together, like a scarf.  I have added random extra squares left over from extra projects and I had to make one little square to fit the puzzle.

Speaking of, the puzzling was my favorite part of it.  Minus when sampson decided to rub himself all over the non-attached squares.  Repuzzling was NOT my favorite part.

Now, I'm whipping and framing.  I decided framing first would be the best idea because it locked in the size.

My two favorite squares are from Sandra.  They're both grannys (imagine that).  One is all black except for the 2nd round, which has rainbow mixed with the black.  My other fav is a flower granny, which I know kelly will love.the colors or beautifully chosen: rose, power blue, RED, lilac, cream/gold. I mostly love this one because it is framed in half gold half cream.

and that's a lot of yarn!

Plans for the future? If anything, Ive learned that saying out loud "This is a blanket" never works. I won't get it done in time. But, keeping everything very vague, WORKS.

Feathers!

Hi all. Been a while, I know. But, it's officially my summer now, so let's get crafting!

My final school responsibility has just ended, and Ive just returned from a rockin' teaching conference in Chicago. As I'm walking around the city, there are LOADS of feathers everywhere. Scarves (winter? who knew!), ears, necks, wrists... feathers were the thing. Thus, I'm all about trying my hand at them in jewelry.

This spring I made 2 prototypes for feather hair peices, but I was the only person who seemed to love them. Thus, they haven't gone into production. I'm hoping the earrings, etc, are gonna be popular.

The Kelly band

Ive got a good friend who is as addicted to crocheting as I am. She brain childed these lovely hair peices, now dubbed, "the kelly band" after her. Ive got 3 variations below. The middle is closest to her originial design.

Snappys!

The aunt of a friend gave me a pattern (ME? follow a pattern--puh-shaw!) and the final product is so adorable, Ive got a little crazy. Below are SNAPPYS! They are hand clutches, perfect for money, cellphone and any other little thingy you need.

The best part is the closure. It SNAPS. I'm not gonna give away the pattern's secret, but I'll tell you what, I'm sure you got the means to make this snappy closure sitting in your house, right now...

Random crafting, at its finest.

This little green graduation worm was made for my most dedicated crochet student, Cassandra. She got this on the 8th grade graduation day.

Johanna has a book of all these cool, sassy crochet patterns. Using a half hairbone (ODD stitch) this is my new dominoes bag, for all the chicken foot and muggins. (aka, muggles, but that's only me trying to be funny with an incorrect name).

The major success of Spring was this necklace. I wasn't trying new designs, just making something to jazz up my boring shirts (i don't love patterns on tops). Easy easy easy necklace with antique bronze filligree, hand made pearl necklace and 3 different flowers.
